Maggie Rulli is a London-based ABC News correspondent covering stories
around the world. To date, her work has sent her to nearly 50
countries and six continents.

During the most recent papal conclave, she was reporting live from
Saint Peter’s Square the moment white smoke announced the first
American pope.

She followed Team USA during their exciting run at the Women’s World
Cup in New Zealand and Australia, and has covered multiple Olympics,
including Paris 2024 and the unprecedented Winter Olympics in Beijing
from inside the “COVID bubble.”

During the pandemic, Rulli was on the frontline covering the impact of
COVID-19 and the global response, reporting from Japan during one of
the first recorded outbreaks, from India during the country’s deadly
delta variant outbreak, and from European cities as they reopened to
tourists for the first time.

She has covered historic natural disasters, including the worst fires
in Australia’s history and record-breaking flooding in Germany, as
well as extensive reporting on the environment, including the impact
of tourism on the Galápagos Islands, peat restoration in Scotland,
and seaweed farming on the Faroe Islands.

While closely covering the Royals, Rulli has reported from Westminster
Abbey during the coronation of King Charles III, outside Balmoral the
night Queen Elizabeth II passed away, the wedding of Prince Harry and
Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle, and multiple royal tours in South
Africa and Pakistan.

Prior to joining the London bureau, Rulli was based in New York, where
she covered the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, the Parkland shooting,
and the 2025 California wildfires. Before that, she was based in
Washington, D.C., where she covered the 2016 presidential debates and
President Donald Trump’s first inauguration.

Rulli was a Channel One News reporter before joining ABC News. She
learned all aspects of production, often working as a one-woman band.
She gained rare inside access to a nuclear missile underground bunker
and conducted a one-on-one interview with then-first lady Michelle
Obama.

Rulli graduated summa cum laude from Boston College. Wherever she
lives, she promises to remain always and forever faithful to her
hometown sports teams: the Boston College Eagles and the Red Sox.
